Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science

Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities require additional hours and

flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.  The position is for nine months, with

the possibility of online courses and summer school teaching.  Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily on weekdays, but may include some evening responsibilities and independent studies.  Attendance may also be required at some evening and weekend events.



The Department of Computer Science invites applications from exceptionally qualified candidates in all areas of Computer Science for a fulltime, tenure track faculty position.  Strongest consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the areas of data analytics, network security, game development, and/or software engineering.


LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith, committed to Christian higher education and the integration of Christian faith with life and the discipline of computer science.  The preferred person should have broad experience in the computer sciences.

  • Earned doctorate      in computer science with strengths preferred in data analytics, security,      networks or game development. 
  • Proven success as      a teacher of freshmen-to-senior level computer science courses, in a strong,      practically-based program. Teaching competencies must include the ability      to design foundational course material for lecture and activity formats      including syllabi and assessments.
  • Interpersonal      skills to effectively and professionally interact with students,      colleagues, and administrators in the university community.
  • Experience and      skills in computer-related industry or research applicable to the training      and direction of undergraduate computer science student activities.
  • College level      teaching experience is preferred in one or more of the following areas; data      analytics, network security, game development, and software engineering
