Urbana University, a division of Franklin University, is seeking a full-time, 12-month, Department Chair to oversee the Nursing and Allied Health programs. The Department Chair promotes and supports the vision and mission of Urbana University. Primary responsibilities include teaching and oversight of academic quality within the Nursing and Allied Health Undergraduate and Graduate Programs, guidance and support for Program faculty and related staff and acting as a key advisor to the College Dean. The Department Chair reports directly to the College Dean and will have responsibility for program oversight/direction, curriculum oversight, assessment, program promotion in the community, among other duties.
The ideal candidate will hold a Doctorate from an accredited institution in Nursing or a related field and (candidates with ABD status may be considered) and a Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and have the qualifications to teach a wide range of health care courses. Prior professional administrative and teaching experience in a BSN program is essential. Applicants must be able to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, adjunct faculty and professionals in the nursing and healthcare community. Successful candidates will be organized, have effective multi-tasking skills, and be able to work in a rapidly-changing environment.
