Job Description:

The Visual and Media Arts Department is growing!  We strive to serve a diverse population of emerging artists, designers, and media creators with inspiring and relevant instruction in our state-of-the-art labs. Instructor(s) needed to teach:

 VMA-141  Elements of Video Production on Thursday 8:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.-This course gives students an overview of the theoretical, aesthetic, and practical elements of digital video pre-production, production, and post-production. Through a series of creative exercises, lectures, and classroom critiques, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental skills required in planning, scripting, directing, shooting, lighting, and editing digital video productions for a variety of purposes and audiences. The course provides a special emphasis on understanding and using visual storytelling techniques to relate information and emotion.

VMA-503 Video for Social Media on Tuesday 8:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.-Learn how to powerfully communicate your message for the condensed format of social media. In this course students will create their own professional quality video for actual distribution. We will cover camera technique using DSLRs, sound recording, effective planning, creative editing, and publication to the web.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional experience in video production required.
  • College level teaching experience preferred.
  • A portfolio of commercially oriented work that demonstrates your production skills to be submitted upon request (web link is preferred)
  • Experience with Learning Communities or openness to engaging in the teaching of Learning Communities
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND THE ADJUNCT ACADEMY PRIOR TO BEING ASSIGNED COURSES.

Additional Information

Salary: $986.00 per credit hour

Effective Date: Spring semester, 2015. Open until filled.
