Detailed Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the operational success of projects and events conducted by the Center for Global and Intercultural Engagement (CGIE) which includes Multicultural Student Services, International Student Services, International and Multicultural Studies, and International Affairs and Diplomacy. Strategically manages programs and events establishing priorities as agreed upon by the directors involved. Helps establish relationships with potential partners in and outside of UVU including colleges, schools, departments, administration, student organizations, and other entities. Coordinates logistics and planning which may include, but are not limited to, contacting pertinent entities involved, securing venues, making appropriate arrangements, and setting timely appointments. Maintains a high level of professionalism enhancing the visibility of programs planned and conducted by the CGIE.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a BS/BA degree plus two years of relevant experience OR any combination of education and experience totaling 6 year(s).


Knowledge of culture nuances, in particular those related to diverse ethnicities.
Knowledge of student development and advising.
Knowledge of the political landscape of Higher Education entities and its relation to the community.
Knowledge of retention and retention strategies for Multicultural and International populations
Knowledge of public Relations and Communication strategies.
Knowledge of student safety issues.
Knowledge of budget management.


Skill in supervising staff, student employees and volunteers.
Skill in developing professional relationships and promptly resolve potential conflicts within the department and between the department and with outside agencies/persons.
Skill in computer equipment, various software programs and general office procedures.
Skill in developing professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Skill in website design and maintenance.


Ability to attend after-hour events, meetings, practices, and orientations if needed, and which are essential to the success of the programs
Ability to plan and execute large and small events that are conducive to attract and retain quality students and partners to the institution.
Ability to collaborate and support other multicultural, international, and institutional programs.
Ability to perform research.
Ability to serve on community committees and build effective relationships and partnerships.

Pay Range

$33,068 to $44,091 annually
