Teaches an Average of 12 credit hours each semester. Develops an active research agenda, involving students, that results in presentation and publication
Serves on committees and other opportunities for the program, department, college, university and greater community.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. Current Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE)
Ph.D. (preferred), MFT (preferred), ABD or doctoral candidate considered.
Teaching and research strengths should complement current departmental needs and strengthen the rigor and quality of the Family Studies program
Excellence in teaching as demonstrated through effective instructional strategies and techniques in the classroom and in community-based family life education settings
Effective interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a willingness to serve on committees
Ability to teach FAMS 4700 Intro to Marriage and Family Therapy, Teaching Human Sexuality (proposed new course), FAMS 4670 Family Dynamics, and FAMS 4500 Family Life Education Methodology and other FAMS classes
Scholastic potential, preferably evidenced by publications, presentations, and the promise of future scholarly productivity
Evidence of internship supervision, club advising, community family life education presentations, and/or program leadership
Ability to articulate a diverse/multicultural perspective.
