Position Description:

The Employer Relations Coordinator reports to the Director of Internships & Job Development, and is responsible for facilitating job placement for BHCC graduating students through employer outreach, job development, job market analysis and coaching student referrals.  Specific target programs include career placement outcomes for students graduating from the College’s new degrees/certificates programs in IT Big Data, Mobile Applications, Environmental Science and Paramedics.  The Employer Relations Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director, career and internship staff, faculty, and grant personnel to implement a job development service system that supports both students and employers.

  • Increase job placement percentages of graduates from target programs.
  • Develop and implement a targeted plan to pursue new employers, generating interest through social media, calls, on-site visits, and active participation in relevant external events, community and professional groups.
  • Build relationships with target employers through posting jobs, recruiting on-campus, industry panels, career fairs, special programs, or participation in BHCC Program Advisory Boards.
  • Keep current on industry hiring and training trends for target programs and collaborate with career and grant staff in developing strategies to respond
  • Market BHCC students and act as an information resource to employers desiring to increase the diversity of their applicant pool.
  • Consult with faculty on appropriate job placements for graduates.
  • Leverage technology to meet student and employer needs in recruitment and placement; facilitate connections between employers and BHCC student groups with similar interests.
  • Leverage BHCC alumni base in support of expanded career opportunities for students.
  • Maintain an efficient, accurate record-keeping system of screened job leads, applicants and student placement statistics.
  • Assist in providing information on employment outcome trends by sector to help BHCC revise existing academic programs or plan new programs to meet workforce demands.
  • Work closely with career and grant staff to coordinate career programming, job referrals and support of students through job placement
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase ease and use of student reporting methods for job attainment.
  • Master’s degree with three years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in any combination of business development,  job/internship placement, recruiting, marketing, HR, IT or environmental/ health science functions
  • Ability to effectively market and represent a program to employers in IT and business
  • Collaborative, self-directed, outcome-oriented, and strong customer service presence
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative thinking, and communication skills
  • Evidence of relationship-building or project management skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to learn and utilize new internet-based recruiting and computer technologies
  • Ability to relate and understand the needs of a diverse student population and work effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituents

Salary Range: $50,785.00 - $57,786.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education & Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.
