This position is responsible for cultivating a learning environment for industry-bound students, as well as those students that wish to pursue graduate studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing excellence in teaching, advising, scholarly activities and professional development. Additionally, interaction with the staff of the Springhill Suites by Marriott is critical in keeping with the vision and goals of the department.
Candidate will be expected to work with and interact with colleagues and specifically in the development and teaching of hotel management and operations to include property management, hospitality strategic management, revenue and yield management, managerial accounting for hospitality, budgeting and forecasting. Candidate will teach 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring) and pursue scholarly activities and applied research with students in and throughout MSU Denver’s Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center. Summer classes are optional with additional compensation. Candidate will combine classroom learning with experiential learning. Candidate will effectively integrate technology (internet, social media, and teaching online) into course work, applied research, and advising. Candidate will advise at the undergraduate level, actively serve as faculty advisor to a student organization, provide service to the university and community, and fulfill other assigned duties as requested by the department Chair.

Candidate must be student-oriented and possess strong leadership skills conducive to building premier undergraduate and graduate programs within the HTE department.
Masters degree plus 6 years of relevant professional or industry work experience in the hospitality industry.
Doctoral degree or ABD at the time of appointment. One degree in Hospitality Management or related field. Teaching experience and active membership in local, regional, and national professional hotel and lodging organization.
