Detailed Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Exhibitions, Education, and Programs to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and interpretive materials for families and teens related to the RISD Museum's collections and exhibitions. Proactively and creatively expand the RISD Museum's approaches to family and teen programming by collaborating with community and educational organizations. Work to make the Museum an inviting and accessible destination for families with children and teens.  


BA degree in art history, fine arts, education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required; M.A. or M.F.A preferred.

At least four years of museum, academic, or cultural programming or teaching experience working with families and teens in museums or a related institution.

The ability to organize and work on multiple projects simultaneously, build and maintain relationships.

Ability to supervise consultants and staff as well as maintain budgets

Ability to think strategically in support of the institution's long-range initiatives

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, organizational, computer skills.

Cogent writing skills and experience with social media tools.

Must be able to work weekends.
