Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Director of Annual Giving.  The Director of Annual Giving works closely with the Senior Associate Vice President for Development & Alumni Affairs on the strategic execution of a comprehensive annual giving program, including direct mail, leadership annual giving, electronic communications and other means of soliciting annual gifts.

Lead the strategy and execution of a comprehensive annual giving program.
Manage the content and messaging of annual appeals, acknowledgements other written communications. Craft electronic and print communications that inspire and interest Quinnipiac University alumni, parents and friends.
Efficiently manage details and deadlines of the annual giving program, including the direct mail component and the solicitation of leadership annual givers.
In concert with department-wide strategic planning, develop annual goals across Quinnipiac constituencies, including alumni, school-based and parent programs.
Develop and coordinate strategies for increasing the membership of the Quinnipiac University President’s Council ($1,000+ annual donors).
Foster productive relationships with school-based Directors of Development to ensure renewal of leadership annual gifts.
Design and implement all phases of the electronic marketing strategy related to development and leadership giving.
Personally cultivate and solicit annual gifts of $1,000 to $5,000, managing a portfolio of 100-150 alumni and parents with visit goals and giving outcomes.
Manage special solicitation programs such as the Faculty/Staff campaign when appropriate.
In partnership with colleagues in development, alumni affairs and public affairs, oversee the design, execution and editorial direction of effective fundraising communications including direct mail, acknowledgement letters, donor recognition pieces and in vendor-driven platforms like crowdfunding websites.
Manage a staff of approximately 5 student workers to promote annual giving.
Communicate the goals and activities of the annual giving program to the Development staff at large. Cultivate relationships with all development staff that lead to cooperative and effective workload management. 

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

Bachelor’s degree required

Minimum 3-5 years of experience required

Ability to effectively leverage relationships across multiple departments to achieve goals

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

A willingness to travel

Availability to work on weekends and /or extended hours as necessary

A desire to have a multi-faceted portfolio of responsibilities
