Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Admission-Recruitment Services, this position shares broad recruitment and enrollment responsibilities with other members of the Office of Admissions. This position’s primary responsibility is to be the lead admissions counselor for Concurrent Enrollment and responding to AskMetro emails. In addition, the position maintains a regular visitation schedule to high schools in the assigned territory and provides general admissions information and academic planning assistance to prospective, applicant and newly admitted MSU Denver students. In this capacity, the position counsels students and disseminates information about admissions, financial aid, registration, tuition classification, transfer of credits, program requirements, and scholarships. This position also assists with coordinating campus tours and special on-campus recruitment related events, such as group tours and Bi’Is. Group and individual presentations are occasional job duties of this position. This position also exercises professional judgment to interpret University policies and procedures and assists students with resolution and referral of individual concerns. This position assists in direct mail, email and telemarketing communications and performs other recruitment related duties. This position also serves as a member of the Admissions Review committee, which conducts file reviews of applicants to evaluate completion of HEAR requirements, assessment data, and makes admission decisions based on a wide variety of evidence of potential for success in the University.
35% – Provides admissions counseling and academic planning advice to prospective students, applicants, and newly admitted students via email, telephone, mail, social media, and direct in-office communication as they relate to the recruitment effort. Facilitates application and admission of students (i.e. high school, transfer, adult, international, etc.) by working closely with a variety of MSU Denver student services programs and academic offices. Exercises professional judgment to interpret University policies to advise prospective and new students about admission procedures, transfer of credits, University policies, the financial aid process, scholarships, program requirements, registration, tuition classification, and available student support services.
30% – Assists with directed follow-up activities and communications for targeted prospective students, applicants, and newly admitted students via email, mail, phone, and CRM, including providing expert advice to students who contact us through our AskMetro email address. Represents MSU Denver at college fairs as well as at on-campus and off-campus recruitment related events and maintains a regular visitation schedule to high schools in assigned territory. Assists with coordinating campus tours and special on-campus recruitment related events, such as group tours and Bi’Is.
10% – Coordinates concurrent enrollment program and assists high school students, counselors, and parents with the application and enrollment processes for this program. Communicates regularly with Orientation, Advising, and the Bursar to facilitate the admission and enrollment of these students.
10% – Upholds and interprets the standards of ethical practice in University admissions to assist with broad recruitment activities. Assists in the preparation of surveys and questionnaires distributed by the Office of Admissions to determine the effectiveness of our programs and services.
10% – Serves on Admissions review committee and on other internal and external committees related to the recruitment of students to the University.
5% – Other duties as assigned.

One year successful experience working with diverse populations of traditional and non-traditional students in a higher education setting, may include experience while still in college.
Two years of successful experience working with diverse populations of traditional and non-traditional students in a higher education setting, may include experience while still in college;
Experience using a student information database system;
Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
