Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, service, and healthcare, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor for its expanding School of Social Work in the College for Public Health and Social Justice. The Saint Louis University School of Social Work offers degrees in social work (BSW, MSW, PhD), applied behavior analysis (MS) and criminology/criminal justice (BS, MS). The School of Social Work is committed to social justice, excellence in education, community engagement, and research that leads to improved outcomes.
The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in social work or a related field, an MSW from a CSWE accredited program, two years of post-MSW practice experience, and strong teaching skills. Although we are open to many substantive areas, we are especially interested in candidates with clinical practice and teaching interest in children, youth and families or older adults. S/he should also have a productive record of research publication and potential to secure external research funding. Primary responsibilities for the position include conducting independent research and producing scholarship, teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses, and providing professional, community, and university service.
