Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, service, and healthcare, invites applications for a 12-month, full-time non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor appointment in the School of Social Work, beginning January or July 2015 for its expanding School of Social Work in the College for Public Health and Social Justice. The Saint Louis University School of Social Work offers degrees in social work (BSW, MSW, PhD), applied behavior analysis (MS) and criminology/criminal justice (BS, MS). The School of Social Work is committed to social justice, excellence in education, community engagement, and research that leads to improved outcomes.
The successful applicant will have an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program, an LCSW, five years of post-MSW practice experience, and experience as a Field Instructor for social work students. A doctoral degree is preferred but not required. A background in mental health, family therapy and/or knowledge of behavioral interventions is helpful. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison between the Saint Louis University School of Social Work and the social work practice community; assisting students in maximizing their learning experiences in practicum; working in partnership with field instructors to facilitate students' integration of theory and practice; and teaching (or facilitating) integrative seminars. Additional teaching responsibilities in the BSW and/or MSW programs may be added as the workload permits.
