The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate applied piano, and will also participate in student recruiting, auditions, recital hearings, committees, and governance structures of the school. Additional teaching responsibilities may include piano literature, accompanying, improvisation, etc., based on the needs of the curricula and candidate qualifications. The successful candidate must establish and maintain a successful recruitment/retention record, creative/scholarly activities, and service contributions appropriate for a university faculty member.
The School of Music at The University of Alabama invites applications for full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Piano. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and designated rank. A Doctorate or Master’s degree combined with significant/outstanding professional experience is required. Significant university teaching and wide-ranging performing experience is preferred. An active professional career with the potential for excellence as a successful faculty member with a commitment to recruiting outstanding students and the ability to attract and retain graduate and undergraduate students is expected.
