Supports and assists the Senior Associate Director of Graduate Admission in recruiting Public Administration students in the College of Business & Public Management.

Specific Duties

 Support and assist the Senior Associate Director of Graduate Admission in recruiting new Masters and Doctoral level Public Administration students via recruitment events and marketing efforts, generating and processing student applications, managing prospective student files and overseeing enrollment processes.
 Serve as the primary point of contact for new graduate student inquiries, including international and domestic prospects.
 Coordinate and monitor the workflow for timely and accurate processing of admissions applications for Public Administration graduate students which may include interfacing with the Graduate Admission Operations staff.
Support initial communication to Public Administration students through the admission process with a student-centered focus. Advise students regarding the enrollment steps.
 Initiate letters and correspondence, scheduling and conducting individual prospective student meetings, and follow-up contact with prospective students.
Represent the CBPM and Public Administration programs at on- and off-campus recruiting events.
 Conduct recruitment presentations to groups of prospective students as well as follow-up activities to ensure applications are submitted, applicant files are completed, and any student concerns are addressed promptly.
Support monthly Information Sessions held at the campus for prospective Public Administration students.
 Review domestic and international applications.
 Provide administrative support for the supervisor.
As directed by supervisor, interface with graduate program chairs to ensure an effective and efficient review of applications.
 Undertake research projects related to program development, market, and competitor research.
 Serve as a liaison with other staff and students.
 Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required;Master’s Degree preferred.

Knowledge of Public Administration programs preferred.

Minimum two years experience in admission and recruitment.

Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.

Must be able to work within required deadlines, travel to recruitment events, work after hours and on weekends.

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission will interact with a sophisticated, assertive audience of potential business school applicants, and therefore, must possess excellent communication skills and persuasive dialogue. This position will provide expert knowledge of the application criteria, student profiles, and insight to assess the strength of potential applicants’ candidacy throughout the recruiting and application process. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission must possess the ability to use diplomacy to advise potential applicants as to the suitability of their background, educational achievements and professional goals.
