Detailed Job Description

During evenings and Saturdays installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs AV/media equipment for class and conference rooms. Responds to user requests for technical support of AV/media equipment, computer hardware, software, server and networking issues and documents resolution or escalation of these requests. Provides setup and
technical support of AV/media and computing equipment for campus events. Coordinates part-time after hours media technicians and call center specialists. May fill in as call center specialist as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in Information Systems or a related field and three years of experience directly related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and experience totaling five years, four of which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties.

This position is part of a career ladder.

Preferred Qualifications

This is a Career Ladder and will be hired at one of these levels:

Grade 14: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in Technology Management or related field and one year of experience which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience totaling three years, two years of which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties. Six months customer service experience preferred.

Grade 16: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in Technology Management or related field and two years of experience which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience totaling four years, two years of which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties. Prefer at least one year of industry recognized certification or training applicable to the Summary of Duties.

Grade 18: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in Technology Management or related field and three years of experience which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience totaling five years, four years of which must be directly related to the Summary of Duties. Prefer one or more certifications or training related to Audio Video Integration and or media support. Examples include: 6 Sigma, CTS, STS-D, CTS-1 or two Manufacture certifications: Crestron, Extron, Cleearone, Milestone, Scala, etc.

Knowledge

Knowledge of computer hardware, software, network and server system.
Knowledge of AV/media equipment.
Knowledge of IT service management processes and service desk operations.

Skills

Skill in the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of AV/media equipment.
Skill in using computer hardware and software.
Skill working in a customer service, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Skill in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

Abilities

Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks with little supervision.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks and incidents.
Ability to deal with a diversity of personalities effectively and courteously.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly.
Ability to handle conflict management and proactively problem solve.

Pay Range

$30,052 to $46,360 annually
