The successful candidate will teach composition and direct and conduct the University of Alabama Contemporary Music Ensemble. Additional teaching responsibilities include 16th- and 18th-century counterpoint, advanced counterpoint, orchestration, advanced orchestration, special topics in composition, and digital and advanced digital synthesis as needed.
The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in composition at the rank of Assistant Professor. The search committee seeks accomplished candidates who are developing a national and international reputation as composers as demonstrated by recordings, significant performances, awards, and publications. College teaching experience is required. Minimum requirement of a doctorate in composition. ABDs will be considered if degree is completed by start date.
