This position exists to serve as a full-time member of the biology faculty teaching 12 credits per semester, providing academic advising to students, engaging in professional development and service to the university community.
Teach 12 credit hours per semester, including all required laboratories. Teach a combination of Developmental Biology, General Biology, General Genetics, and Cell & Molecular Biology. The ability to develop additional upper division courses in area of specialty. Establish and direct undergraduate research projects. Responsibilities will also include academic advising, conducting professional development, and performing university and community service. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the education needs of a diverse urban population.
Earned doctorate in biology or closely related
field no later than July 1st, 2015.
Ph.D. in biology with an emphasis in developmental biology. Demonstrated ability to teach general biology and upper division courses in developmental biology, general genetics, and cell and molecular biology.
