The School of Health Sciences, one of eight schools and colleges of Quinnipiac University seeks an experienced and innovative leader in health sciences to be its next dean. Our School of Health Sciences is the largest school in the University by enrollment, and houses programs in basic sciences and health sciences, offers 5 undergraduate programs (Athletic Training, Biomedical Sciences, Health Science Studies, Microbiology and Immunology, and Diagnostic Imaging), 3 combined undergraduate and graduate programs, and 9 graduate degree programs (Biomedical Sciences, Anesthesiologist Assistant, Cardiovascular Perfusion, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Social Work, Pathologist’s Assistant, Physician Assistant, Radiologist Assistant). The School of Health Sciences seeks a forward thinking Dean who will develop and implement strategies that will position the school and its graduates as competent professionals in an evolving healthcare landscape. Broad areas of responsibilities include leadership and the development of a guiding vision as it relates to the education of future basic scientists, healthcare professionals, and both basic and clinical research. The Dean will have primary oversight of the academic and business operations, collaborations, institutional advancement and external relationships for the school that includes undergraduate and graduate programs. A unique opportunity and key area of focus for the new Dean will be defining, developing and sustaining robust interprofessional collaborations between School of Health Sciences, the newly launched Medical School, and the School of Nursing in fostering team-based care and serve as a national model of interprofessional health professions education. The Dean, alongside the Deans of Medicine and Nursing, will develop frameworks, policies, initiatives, and implementation strategies that foster collaborative learning and authentic student experiences. In addition, the Dean will be one of three leaders creating the new Center for Interprofessional Healthcare Education, which serves as a think tank and coordinating point for identifying best practices for interprofessional education.
