Under the direction of the Aviation Science Chair, the Tenure-Track Faculty will: teach courses and assess performance of aviation education, training and certification; participate collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff in scholarly research; promote the general wellbeing of the department and the university, and the collective and individual interest of its staff and student body; support and seek always to fulfill the guiding concepts for the college embodied in the philosophy, mission, values and vision adopted by UVU.
-Teach courses in aviation administration curriculum and provides classroom and/or on line instruction equivalent to 15 credit hours per semester.
-Coordinate between students, teaching assistants, other faculty members and a wide variety of support personnel available to students, including advisement, career assistance, and additional student-centered initiatives promoted by the university.
-Contribute to the academic reputation and stature of the program through quality teaching, research and participation in the aviation community.
-Utilize current industry practices to teach in specialty areas such as aviation administration, aviation law, insurance, and other specialties found in a comprehensive collegiate aviation administration program.
-Produce and publish scholarly research in a field of aviation-related expertise.
-Assist the Department Chair in writing grants, accreditation, and service through academic committees as required by the department, college or university.
-Perform quality management and supervision of aviation instruction programs through the use of "state of the art" resources.
-Develop outcome assessment criteria as required by the department, college and university.
-Utilize interpersonal problem solving skills in order to interact effectively with other faculty, staff and students.
-Prepare reports and other professional documents, as well as prepare instructional materials (course syllabi, lockups, visual aids, and instruction sheets).
-Assist in developing other academic curricula as needed by the college, school, or department.
-Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
