With general direction, monitors, triages telecommunications systems issues and service request for end users. Maintains telecommunications systems and ancillary equipment such as handsets, soft clients on workstations and voice mail. As directed, performs basic telecommunications systems maintenance. Provides telecommunications systems hardware and software support to academic and/or administrative end users. Screens service calls, troubleshoot problems and dispatch appropriate resources. Maintains telecommunications systems data base and publish campus phone directory.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and two years professional experience in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field, plus two years of experience directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position; OR Any combination of higher education and work experience related to the essential functions/duties totaling four years, three years of which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position.
Knowledge of various computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, power point, internet tools, email systems, and other general computer skills.
Knowledge of databases and computer operating systems.
Skill in excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and have strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
Skill in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of telecom devices.
Skill in backing up and restoring data,
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Ability to work in a customer service, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to be highly self-motivated.
Ability to learn quickly.
