Faculty Position – Full-time Tenure, Department of Nursing
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach upper division courses in the nursing program. Teach 24 credits per academic year including evenings, on-line courses and weekends using multimedia and other technologies. Plan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical or laboratory experiences that reflect an understanding of the mission, objectives and program’s curriculum. Design, implement and evaluate curriculum. Participate in academic advising and guidance of students and be sensitive to the educational needs of students from a diverse population. Conduct student assessments and evaluate student achievement. Orient, mentor, and monitor clinical faculty and preceptors. Participate in program, curriculum, and department policy development and evaluation. Develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, mission and objectives of the nursing education program. Develop, evaluate, and revise student policies including admission, progression, retention and graduation. Serve on department, school and university committees. Participate in the tenure track process by active engagement in scholarly activities that support professional development and by providing service to the university and external community. The successful candidate must be willing to adhere to policies and procedures regarding students and faculty as established by the University and Department. This announcement is to fill one faculty position in Mental Health nursing.

Master’s Degree with a major in nursing, license to practice as a registered nurse and six years of relevant work experience, or Master’s Degree with a major in nursing, license to practice as a registered nurse, four years of relevant work experience and current professional certification, or a Doctorate in nursing or relevant field and license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado. Two years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience. Graduate degree in nursing and/or bachelor’s degree in nursing must be from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
Doctorate in nursing or relevant field.
