Detailed Job Description
The Manager of Major Giving will serve as a major gift officer for the Foundation. The Manager will oversee a portfolio of major donor prospects and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these important donors. The Manager provides support and guidance to the Foundation staff in coordination with the Director of Development.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 5 years development experience at a higher education institution or related organization required.
Experience managing a major gift or capital campaign; proven experience soliciting, closing and stewarding major gifts.
Demonstrated knowledge of institutional advancement (alumni, community relations, fundraising strategies, planned giving).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the College and Foundation.
Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, including the ability to anticipate needs and issues.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and with attention to accuracy, details and deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as are excellent interpersonal skills.
Masters Degree and/or Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
Proficiency with donor database software (Raiser's Edge).
