Applications are currently being accepted from qualified candidates for a part-time Medical Assistant Instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College Rice Lake Campus. This position will teach Medical Assistant Lab classes as well as Human Body in Health and Disease beginning spring semester 2015.
An instructor’s primary purpose is to foster learner success, assess learner achievement, and continually improve learning opportunities. Instructors also contribute to the college’s operational effectiveness by forming partnerships with learners, co-workers, and business and industry stakeholders.
Facilitates learning for all students
Accommodates a variety of learning styles
Embeds diversity in classroom activities
Use a variety of instructional delivery modes.
Incorporates appropriate teaching methods and technologies in the learning process
Assesses learners in a variety of ways
Uses a variety of assessment methods and tools including but not limited to performance assessments, skills checklists, writing assignments, tests, quizzes, group work, partner activities, short- and long-term projects, and employment portfolios
Documents assessment of learner achievement, core abilities, course competencies, and program outcomes
Partners with learners
Helps learners define and achieve their academic and career goals
Manages learning environments in a manner consistent with college policies and procedures
Records and submits grades
Communicates using e-mail, voice mail, and/or on-line postings
Other duties as assigned
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalency*.
2. Two years (4,000 hours) occupational (non-teaching) experience as a Medical Assistant or Medical Laboratory Technician.
3. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
4. If the applicant is a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), preferred.
*Occupational experience combined with education and training preparing a person for the occupation totaling 7 years or 14,000 hours shall be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Each academic credit or equivalent credit shall be equal to 110 hours of occupational experience.
$34.09 – $40.07 hourly
