Performs advanced professional accounting activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ensures or evaluates compliance and accountability of financial programs and business operations/processes. May supervise or lead lower level professional accountants and other staff.

Additional Department Summary:

This position is the primary fiscal management and accounting personnel providing day- to- day responsibility in support of the Gulf State Park Enhancement Project. Once the construction projects are underway, this position will work closely with the overall Project Manager, frequently on-site in Gulf Shores, to insure that all fees and expenses match bid and performance documents. This position will also be the lead in maintaining knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to the source and use of project funding.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting or Business and 2 years of professional accounting experience; OR CPA and 2 years of professional accounting experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. Skills and Knowledge:Proven experience with state and federal agency regulations and accounting for state and federal funds and grants. Experience with Banner accounting system a plus. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in auditing, on-line reporting and invoicing for state and federal funds, developing and presenting formal presentations. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
