The Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Health Care Management at the rank of Assistant Professor effective August 16, 2015.
The Department seeks candidates with expertise and experience in the following areas: health informatics, healthcare information systems, and/or health analytics. Successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in Health Care Management, preferably related to health informatics, healthcare information systems, and/or health analytics. The candidate will perform scholarly activities, including conducting research, presenting research results at professional conferences, publishing in the field’s leading national journals, pursuing external research funding, and engage in service activities within the College and University as deemed appropriate for an individual at the rank of assistant professor.
Minimum qualifications: Completed PhD, or equivalent diploma, or ABD (with evidence of completion by August 16, 2015) in Business Administration, Health Administration, Health Informatics or related field that touches on information technology. Candidate must have teaching experience and demonstrate potential to conduct high quality research.
Preferred qualifications: Evidence of teaching excellence; experience teaching courses in health informatics, healthcare information systems, and/or health analytics; research in one or more high-quality publications or evidence of the potential to develop scholarly activities.
