Detailed Job Description
Assistant Professor to teach courses in the Teacher Education program on the Hamilton campus; collaborate with faculty in developing and revising programs; facilitate course-related field experiences; advise undergraduate students on the regional campus; provide service to the university, department, community and profession; establish program of research and scholarship; serve as an affiliate with the Teacher Education Department on the Oxford campus and work with the department, particularly around enhancing the experiences of students who transfer between campuses.
Earned doctorate with emphasis in early childhood education, child development, or closely related field by date of appointment; administrative and/or teaching experience in Pre K-3 environment and background working with diverse students; evidence of ability to pursue an agenda of service and scholarship appropriate for a regional campus.
Experience with teaching and advising non-traditional students; active participation in related state and national professional organizations; early childhood teaching license; experience in interpreting and implementing state mandated standards; experience teaching online, hybrid formats, and/or integration of technology in classroom practices; willingness to teach in the Miami regional campuses' Bachelor of Integrative Studies degree program; teaching or practice experience in culturally diverse or urban settings.
