Frostburg State University, Department of Educational Professions, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Reading to begin Spring 2015 or Fall 2015. This position may be required to teach at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown in addition to the main campus in Frostburg, Maryland. Salary commensurate with experience and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate reading courses. Supervise students in field settings and reading clinics. Work collaboratively with school partners. Must be able to use technology to enhance instruction and inform assessments. Ongoing professional development as well as Department, College, University, and community service will be expected.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Reading or related field with significant Reading coursework. At least three years of public school teaching experience. Evidence of a commitment to teaching, service, and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise with English Language Learners. Skilled in the use of instructional technology.
