The Department of Special Education and Clinical Services at Indiana University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position in the Education of Exceptional Persons Program at the Assistant Professor level beginning August, 2012.
Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education, advise students in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs, supervise field placements, engage in scholarly work in the field, and participate in related university and community services. The assignment may include off-campus or distance education instruction.
Doctorate in Special Education or related field required. Three years of successful teaching in inclusive K-12 or alternative school setting required. The following experiences will be given preference:
• Previous college teaching (face to face and on-line)
• Experience with English Language Learners and early childhood populations
• Experience with assistive/adaptive technology.
Pennsylvania clearances for criminal history and child abuse will be required prior to employment. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the on campus interview(s) which may include a teaching demonstration. All applicants must be work eligible.
