Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Grants, Seminars, & Publications, manages, directs, and supervises the development, planning, and creation of print publications and web mediums for Emergency Services departments which includes the UFRA Straight Tip Magazine, the Emergency Services Administration department and UFRA’s associated websites, UFRA’s social media outlets (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), photography, and privately contracted projects. Coordinates activities between staff, freelance authors, freelance photographers, freelance designers, private contractors, and customers and enforces all deadlines and encourages staff, freelancers, and/or private contractors to follow assigned deadlines.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus two years of related editorial experience OR a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.
Familiar with Straight Tip publication, OU Campus, and the fire service industry.
Knowledge of publications processes.
Knowledge of university and UFRA missions and objectives.
Knowledge of university and UFRA policies, regulations, laws, and national standards.
Skill in coordinating and supervising projects from beginning to completion.
Skill in evaluating and executing change to processes as needed.
Skill in creating and implementing projects pertaining to Straight Tip magazine, professional social media, and marketing.
Ability to stay on task, prioritize, and manage time with little to no supervision.
Ability to supervise staff and private contractors in applicable areas.
Ability to network and communicate respectfully and effectively with professionals on a business level.
Ability to effectively represent UVU and UFRA’s image by way of professional public relations and media.
