Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Works with members of the College community to develop a College-wide plan for grant and gift requests with a focus on outreach to Foundations, Corporations and Individuals; and serves as a liaison between the College and external funding sources
•Develops district level grant writing initiatives and takes the lead for funding opportunity writing teams as well as for writing, editing and compiling the final proposals for such initiatives
•Leads collaboration for grant and prospect identification funding including research of external funding opportunities, cultivation, solicitation, proposal development, and project monitoring for compliance and reporting
•Leads faculty, staff and administrators to identify and secure sources of funding to develop proposals and project budgets for submission to appropriate funding sources, and to assist with managing grants received and monitoring expenditure activities
•Provides educational and support sessions to College internal community regarding funding opportunities and guidelines; and represents the Foundation and College at external meetings
•Works on projects and presentations for the College and Tri-C Foundation projects and processing on an as needed basis. Develops communication materials regarding Foundation and College initiatives
•Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

•Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum of five years of experience in positions that work with the community or professional writing
•Demonstrated experience building strategic community relationships
•Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
•Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

•Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
•Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
•Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects
•Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues
•Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
•Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Experience in grants and fundraising administration

Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Banner systems

Work Schedule

Standard College hours, M-F 8:30am – 5:00. Occasional evenings and weekends based on need from supervisor
