Detailed Job Description

Under direct supervision, the assistant director of Prospective Student Services (PSS) will oversee a wide variety of public relations, marketing and communications, data management, budgets, recruitment travel, and student ambassador programs. This position works closely with employees at all levels, students, faculty, and the public.
Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
-Maintain statistical analysis of on-campus events, student enrollment and University recruitment initiatives
-Manage data management systems and prepare/review enrollment reports
-Direct on-campus recruiting; including campus tours, academic recruitment events, scholarship banquets, high school counselor communications and public relations
-Plan, market and implement specialty campus events in coordination with deans, faculty and academic advisors
-Direct off-campus recruiting; including college fairs, open houses, high school visits, out-of-state travel and high school counselor conferences
-Analyze and create reports concerning on and off-campus events
-Attend and/or present at professional development conferences pertaining to higher education
-Oversee the student ambassador program and related activities
-Create and maintain effective relationships with appropriate stakeholders (students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, community partners and others)
-Assist in managing department budgets
-Assist in coordinating the University's print marketing
-Assist in coordinating the University's internet/social media marketing
-Assist in coordinating the University's video marketing
-Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from accredited institution with a bachelor degree, and two years experience related to the essential functions of the position. Master degree preferred.

1. Knowledge of college recruiting programs and methods, techniques and procedures of University recruitment
2. Skills in report/statistical production
3. Interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills
4. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and written)
5. Ability to prepare collateral materials for program/University marketing purposes
6. Ability to successfully supervise and evaluate others
7. Strong proven leadership ability
