Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Acting and Stage Movement, and undergraduate courses in African American Theatre, Introduction to Acting, and Introduction to Theatre. Supervise GTA teachers of Introduction to Theatre. Possible opportunities to direct and/or movement coach department productions. Participation in recruitment, advising, committee work and service to the university will also be required. The candidate will be expected to vigorously pursue creative/research activities appropriate to the discipline.

The Department of Theatre and Dance at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Acting and Stage Movement, and undergraduate courses in African American Theatre, Introduction to Acting, and Introduction to Theatre. Supervise GTA teachers of Introduction to Theatre. Possible opportunities to direct and/or movement coach department productions. Qualifications: MFA in performance or performance pedagogy; Significant training or expertise in one or more of the following: African American Theatre, Alexander Technique, Laban, Suzuki, Viewpoints, Commedia, Period Style, Devised Theatre, Movement Theatre, Lecoq, Feldenkrais, Yoga, and/or Tai Chi; and experience teaching at the college and/or university level.
