The Biology/Botany Department at Mt. Hood Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Instructor - Biology (tenure track). An instructor's primary responsibility is to provide high quality instruction so that each student may meet learning outcomes. An instructor is also responsible for working with the dean and colleagues to improve student learning experiences. Instructors may be assigned other instructional responsibilities as determined by the dean.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Master's degree in biology or a master's degree and 24 graduate credit hours in biology
Please note: you must meet the stated requirement in order to be considered for this position.
The ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following desired qualifications:
PhD or research-based master's degree with 24 graduate credit hours in biology
Expertise in cellular or molecular biology, genetics or other interdisciplinary life science
Experience as a community college instructor
Experience and interest in using evidence-based instructional methods
Skills and abilities to coordinate non-majors biology sequence, including multidisciplinary course development
Commitment to student excellence and continued improvement of instruction
On-line distance education instruction experience preferably using Blackboard
