Detailed Job Description

Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts prospects for The University of Alabama. This position will work with individuals, corporations, and foundations in building relationships in support of academic and institutional priorities.

Additional Department Summary:

The Principal Gifts Officer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts to support a new initiative for Scholarship Funding. This position will work primarily with individuals and corporations in building relationships in support of the scholarship initiative. This position requires the ability to work well with volunteers and other Advancement staff.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of professional experience in development, fund-raising, sales, public relations, or related field. Frequent travel required.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive travel required, with the majority vehicle travel within the southeastern US. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. Skills and Knowledge:Good public relations, oral and written communications, excellent organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages required. Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of experience as a major gifts officer highly preferred. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 42993.60 Midpoint - $ 62337.60
