The Chemistry Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for an assistant professor, tenure-track appointment in areas of analytical chemistry to begin July 2015. This person would join a department of seven full-time faculty members with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students.
We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, mentoring undergraduates in research, and who demonstrate an awareness of the importance of diversity in education.
The position involves teaching analytical and general chemistry courses as well as advising and directing a productive research program with undergraduates. Dedicated research space and start-up funds for research are available.
Although a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry is preferred, we are particularly interested in candidates with broad experience in instrumentation and analytical techniques.
Interested applicants should submit online a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, a brief description of the proposed research plan that incorporates undergraduates, and undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Three recommendation letters are required and each should be submitted online by the reference. The candidate is required to submit the names and email addresses of their references as part of the online application. The application deadline is November 15, 2014, but review of applications will begin immediately. Please email inquiries to our administrative assistant Romelle Berry at email@example.com or to Louis Liotta, Chemistry Chairperson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
