The successful candidate will assume responsibilities that will include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in School Health Education; ability to initiate or maintain a productive research agenda; obtaining external/internal funding; developing partnerships and conducting research within the public schools; providing leadership in the State for School Health Education; department/college/university and professional service; advising and mentoring students; participation with special projects/theses; and collaboration with faculty in other departments in the School of Education.
Qualified candidates for this position are expected to have a completed doctoral degree in school health education, or closely related field. ABD will be accepted if degree is completed prior to appointment; experience teaching health or related topics in public schools.
~Demonstrated record of scholarship/creative activity and commitment to service.
~Collaboration with peers in the field of health education.
~Experience with national accreditation process in school health education.
~Experience with outcome-based education.
~ University teaching experience in school health education and evidence of rapport with university students.
