Detailed Job Description

The Associate Director of Prospective Student Services is responsible for the daily operations of the office of Prospective Student Services. This includes direct oversight of each UVU Recruiter as well as planning and developing strategies for recruiting prospective graduate and undergraduate students, planning and directing all programs designed to enhance the university’s undergraduate student recruitment efforts at high schools, junior colleges, out of state, and internationally. The Associate Director engages in leadership programming that is collaborative with a wide range of UVU departments as well as other partners within the greater UVU service region. The Associate Director assists in implementing and using new technology to recruit students. Builds collaborative internal and external relationships and participates in recruitment consortiums.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years of directly related experience OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.


Knowledge of college recruiting programs and methods, techniques of high school/college recruitment.
Knowledge of computerized student information systems.
Knowledge of hiring processes and procedures.
Knowledge of internet recruitment tools.
Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
Knowledge of leadership theory and practice.


Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Skill in training and development and ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Skill in managing student programs.


Ability to develop and implement recruitment plans.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Ability to prepare collateral materials for program/college marketing purposes, including marketing of the PSS/CAL programs.
Ability to successfully supervise and evaluate others.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Pay Range

$45,914 to $61,218 annually
