Audits,classifies, verifies and enters student application records into Banner Student Information System
Using UC4, creates and monitors data file for correspondence with students (admission letters,student identification numbers, etc.)
Based on Federal guidelines, assesses and determines residency status for all students and applies state authorization guidelines when appropriate for distance learning courses
Identifies and codes special student populations (for reporting purposes)
Analyzes high school transcripts (foreign and domestic) and GED transcripts to verify authenticity, graduation dates and equivalency to satisfy federal financial aid requirements
Responds to requests for and changes to student information. All work done in accordance with the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) and Ohio Board of Regents (OBOR)
Utilizes imagining technology to index and verify student information
Tests computer application systems and recommends procedural efficiencies
Performs other related duties within the job grade and job classification as assigned
Two (2) years equivalent, full-time experience in student services in an educational setting
Experience working with the general public
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment within established procedures and protocols
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information
Outstanding customer service skills and the proven ability to sustain productive
Basic word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), grammar, math and keyboarding, filing (alpha and numeric) skills
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Experience with Banner navigation
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint
Standard College hours of business 8:30AM – 5PM,Monday through Friday. Varied hours may be necessary during peak periodsor to cover for other staff.
This is a Full-time, 1199/SEIU bargaining Unit position, Grade 07. Full time 1199/SEIU bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions.
