The Department of Human Development and Family Studies, College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama is seeking applicants for Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track appointment with research, teaching, service and program administration responsibilities. Sought are applicants with a supervisory license in Marriage and Family Therapy and a program of research focused around couple and family therapy and/or family studies. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to teach graduate specialty courses in marriage and family and to teach in the cutting-edge and growing undergraduate programs in the department.
•Represent the program to the department, dean, community, state.
•Oversee the growth and operation of the MFT graduate program.
•Teach core and specialty courses in MFT as well as undergraduate courses in the department.
•Recruit and advise students in the MFT program.
•Collaborate with faculty in the department and across campus to facilitate data collection in the Capstone Family Therapy Clinic.
•Develop grant applications to support the program of research and other clinical activities.
•Communicate with the national and state organizations concerning accreditation requirements.
•Provide clinical supervision in the program.
•Build a variety of internship opportunities for students.
•Supervise the Clinic Director.
•An earned doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development and Family Studies or a closely related area
•Hold an active MFT license or eligible for MFT licensure in Alabama and be an approved supervisor in the AAMFT or eligible
•Experience providing family and couple therapy working with a diverse range of clients
•College-level teaching experience
•Evidence of research/scholarly productivity
•Knowledge of COAMFTE accreditation standards and procedures
•State/regional presence in the profession
