Position: Assistant Professor of Special Education/Secondary Special Education, High Incidence Disabilities (Tenure-Track)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in special education
  • Expertise in instructional, management and
    assessment techniques for high incidence
    disabilities at the secondary level
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements and
    trends in the discipline
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate
    courses in secondary special education high
    incidence disabilities and related areas
    such as behavior management, content
    literacy, transition and/or assessment
  • Evidence and/or ability to pursue a defined
    research agenda in special education
  • The ability to collaborate with a variety of
    stakeholders
  • A commitment to diversity and excellence in
    higher education teacher preparation programs
  • Appropriate coursework in secondary
    education/high incidence disabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of instructional and assistive
    technology applications and/or distance
    delivery
  • Minimum of three years experience teaching
    in secondary settings is preferred as is
    emphasis on secondary instruction
  • Potential to pursue external funding is
    preferred
