Position: Assistant Professor of Secondary Social Science Education (Tenure Track)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in education related to the
    teaching and learning of middle school
    and/or high school social science education
  • At least 2 years teaching experience in
    middle school and/or high school social
    science classrooms
  • Ability to pursue a research agenda and
    external funding in social studies education
  • Ability to teach courses in social studies
    education
  • Ability to teach with a multicultural
    perspective
  • Ability to integrate technology into
    instruction
  • Ability to integrate inclusion concepts into
    instruction
  • Commitment to collaborative collegiality
  • Completion of appropriate coursework in a
    social studies discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach courses in general
    secondary education and/or Content Area
    Literacy
