The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.

Additional Department Summary:

This position is a lead in the management and maintenance of web and database systems for the Enrollment Management area including but not limited to; Talisma Customer Relationship Management system (1,000,000+ records), Orientation Registration System, Scholarship Awarding System, Scholarship Application, Financial Aid Job Line, High School Counselor System, Alumni Recruitment System, ExamApp DB, Financial Aid Student Employment website, Testing DB & Website. He/She must have the ability to develop and maintain partnerships within as well as with others outside the UA. The position must be able to consult, determine the scope of a project, expectations of the customer, set timelines, monitor progress and evaluate results. The position should be able to accept and lead change while adapting to the challenge of learning new systems in order to meet technology goals and enhance the online experience for students, faculty and staff. The position will manage all databases/applications, troubleshoot issues, develop/install/maintain new system while integrating them with the existing UA technology infrastructure. The Office of Technology Support Services provides services for a variety of on-campus and off-campus constituents, manages a customer relationship management system containing close to 1,00,000+ prospective students for Undergraduate Admissions, provides development and support of the web based jobline and student employment systems, high school counselor tracking system, alumni recruitment system and developing and maintaining the resources and systems that support the Enrollment Management office is both complex and challenging. The task requires sophisticated technical skills and abilities as well as the capacity to understand the functional needs and processes of the units in Enrollment Management. Strong hardware and outstanding software skills are necessary to meet the changing needs of the unit. The position must keep abreast of the latest technology and demonstrate an ability to recommend changes to existing systems to insure UA is maintaining market standards. The ability to effectively identify, research and recommend technical solutions and alternatives is essential. Demonstration and certification of technical skills in utilizing industry standards for database skills is crucial.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years professional IT experience, OR Master's degree in related field, OR any equivalent combination of experience, training, education and/or certification from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been obtained. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications. May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Strong SQL programming skills are crucial. Thorough knowledge and/or experience with project management skills. ORACLE experience and SQL certification preferred. Preferred Qualifications:Prefer SQL and NT certification. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 36233.64 Midpoint - $ 51812.76
