Job Responsibilities

•Manages all aspects of the daily operation of the Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) TRiO Program
•Assist in the selection and provide training, supervision, and performance evaluation of staff
•Establish working relationships with target schools, post-secondary educational institutions, and community agencies to coordinate program services and recruit program students
•Conduct program marketing and public relations activities in target area
•Compile data and develop UBMS performance reports and proposals to the U.S. Department of Education
•Monitors and evaluates UBMS’s progress towards achieving annual program goals
•Monitor program activities to assure compliance with the regulations of the U.S. Department of Education
•Submit bi-weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly programmatic reports and budgetary spending reports to the Associate Vice President of Access & Community Engagement
•Monitors and manages grant funds/budget efficiently and effectively
•Managing a follow-up system by the accumulation of data for analysis as well as the study of data to determine project effectiveness
•Coordinate tracking and follow-up UBMS students
•Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops for professional development
•Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
•Master’s Degree
•Two years of administrative, management, and supervisory experience, preferably in a post-secondary educational setting
•Two years of work experience counseling and/or teaching students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
•One year of experience training, supervising, and evaluating staff
•Demonstrated experience in program and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
•Experience in working with low income students and colleagues from various ethnic and racial backgrounds
•Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and participant population
•Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
•Knowledge of college admissions requirements and financial aid availability, and familiarity with target areas and community resources
•Knowledge of computer applications programs is required
•Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
•Experience in developing and monitoring budgets

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Education or related field

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business; 8:30AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday – Some evenings and weekends may be necessary for this grant. This is a full-time, exempt, administrator, annual contract position. This appointment is contingent upon continuation of grant funding.
