Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology, beginning August 2015. This position will support a new interdisciplinary undergraduate major in Neuroscience that is being jointly administered by the Departments of Psychology and Biology. The successful applicant for this position will also be a faculty member of the Experimental Psychology doctoral program.
Applicants should have a Ph.D., post-doctoral experience, a record of research productivity, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate student mentoring. Outstanding applicants who work at the interface of cognitive psychology and neuroscience, broadly defined, will be considered. She or he will develop and teach a new undergraduate neuroscience lecture course and an advanced/graduate course in the candidate's area of expertise. Excellent facilities and a competitive start-up package are provided, and opportunities are available to collaborate with researchers in the Psychology Department, at the nearby Health Science Center, and other local universities. The department has 28 full time faculty, a large undergraduate studies program, and doctoral programs in clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and experimental psychology (with concentrations in social psychology, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience). Candidates whose research interests complement those of existing faculty in the Psychology Department are encouraged to apply.
