Quinnipiac University invites nominations and applications for a Founding Director of the Master of Social Work program in the College of Arts & Sciences. The University seeks a visionary and innovative leader with academic and administrative capabilities to plan and operate a master's degree program at the forefront of social work education. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a leader in social work education, research and practice to join a dynamic University seeking national prominence for this program, which will begin offering classes in Fall 2013.
Responsibilities will include developing an innovative curriculum, preparing for accreditation, hiring faculty, setting academic, clinical, and administrative policy, directing operations, and providing strong leadership for the social work program. The candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies and develop (new) clinical partnerships and interprofessional relationships and educational experiences.
Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of effective leadership in graduate social work education. The individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to serve as an effective representative and advocate for the program, its faculty, staff and students. The candidate will also need to show a strong record of professional and scholarly achievement. Qualifications for this position include: a Doctoral degree, a Master's degree in Social Work, and eligibility for social work licensure in the State of Connecticut.
