Detailed Job Description

The Program Assistant will serve as the primary administrative support to the project director and other staff of the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) TAA Community College and Career Training Grant ("grant"). The Program Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative functions that support the goals of the NSC, which includes ten community colleges in nine states working together to develop and implement high-demand STEM pathway programs. This individual works with AACC colleagues, students, adjunct faculty, consultants, senior administrators, college partners and industry partners.  

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required;

Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible general administrative experience required;

Intermediate knowledge of electronic information systems and Microsoft Office required;

Familiarity with standard office procedures and protocols required;

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills, including composition, editing, grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills required;

Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, with attention to details and deadlines required;

Organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks required;

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, administrators, college personnel, project partners, visitors and the general public required;

Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the program required.
