SUMMARY: Teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) per semester. The teaching load will consist of undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Women’s Studies, Feminist Research and Methodology courses, General Studies/Multicultural Studies, and upper division cross-listed courses in areas of specialty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, day, evening, and weekend classes if needed. Other responsibilities include performing departmental, university, and professional services; participating in course and program development; and other duties as assigned by the Director. Service opportunities will include active participation in program-sponsored events. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a culturally and ethnically diverse urban population and inclusive of all underrepresented populations.
1. Teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) per semester.
2. Engage in scholarly activities related to Women’s Studies and have the ability to produce peer-reviewed scholarship.
3. Advise students in the WMS major and minor.
4. Perform departmental, university, community, and professional service.
5. Participate in academic course and program development.
6. Other duties as assigned by the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Women’s Studies, Feminist Studies, or Gender Studies completed no later than August 1, 2015.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in undergraduate courses in Women’s and Gender Studies as well as research involvement in the field. Commitment to diversity through pedagogy and course content.
Experience leading feminist community projects, demonstrated record of integrating feminist theory and practice, and ability to direct service-learning projects. Experience advising a diverse population of undergraduate students. Experience applying current computer and other technology in teaching.
RANK & SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education.
