Detailed Job Description

Areas of Specialization: History of Philosophy (Modern or 20th Century Analytic) or Global Justice.  Areas of Competence: Applied Ethics, Philosophy of Law, and Logic. The successful applicant should be conversant with both the liberal arts model of education and the analytic tradition in philosophy, and should have a PhD (ABD considered if completion of doctorate is expected by August 2015).  Responsibilities include teaching five undergraduate courses and advising three senior Independent Study projects per academic year.  Participation in the College's First-Year Seminar program is expected.  Submit letter of application, CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, a writing sample, three letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching excellence, and (unofficial) graduate transcripts through Interfolio (apply.interfolio.com/25887).  Review of applications will begin October 15, 2014.
