Detailed Job Description

The Director of Document Services is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all phases of Printing Services, Copy Services, Receiving, Mail Services and Records Retention, including responsibility for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating regular and temporary staff assigned to Document Services and for maintaining an operating budget for Document Services. In addition, the Director is responsible for coordinating the workload of Printing Services and Copy Services with Public Relations and Marketing.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communication arts, business management or related field preferred.

Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in the printing industry, including three years of experience managing an in-house printing facility required.

Technical expertise in electronic composition, printing and finishing and related software required.  

Preferred Qualifications

Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Working knowledge of copyright laws, mailing regulations, OSHA and MOSH regulations.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of Document Services.

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, administrators, vendor and the public.
