Serves as the main athletic communications contact for assigned Utah Valley University teams, responsible for publicity and media relations coverage of assigned programs, serves as a liaison between assigned sports and media, the Western Athletic Conference, NCAA, and University. Produces content for WolverineGreen.com, including press releases/game recaps. Maintains social media presence for assigned sports and other programs. Maintains history and records for assigned sports. Produces game notes. Facilitates media requests. Assists other sports and events as needed.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and two years of related experience or any combination of education and experience totaling four years.
All employees of the Athletics Department are required to uphold and abide by all NCAA regulations and Utah Valley University institutional policies and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field OR any combination of education and experience totaling 4 year(s).
Knowledge of Athletics and NCAA sports.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge of statistics for various sports and the StatCrew program.
Knowledge of computer software and word processing.
Knowledge of social media platforms and strategies Knowledge of basic HTML coding.
Knowledge of Netitor and/or SIDEARM Sports
Skill in writing and editing.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication Skill in of Adobe Suite, namely Photoshop and InDesign.
Skill in basic video editing.
Skill in organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work on a deadline.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information regarding student-athletes, University staff, and the athletic department.
Ability to travel.
